Of all the books I’ve ever reviewed in TRUE REVIEW’s hallowed pages, THE LOVECRAFT SQUAD is the most frustrating and disappointing.
From a fantastic beginning, with two rascal friends who, after a dare, almost get killed in an off-limits, dark and ghastly construction site, the story then begins to meander unnecessarily all over the place. My attention span was hammered away by page 124 – hey, I tried – but I kept falling asleep, as a whole lot of nothing, MOBY-DICK-like, kept going on, leading me as a reader nowhere. Even if the plot was in motion, I became completely unconcerned about it.
The horror, the horror!
