Joe Fletcher is able to paint some macabre portraits of reality. I enjoyed the vignettes more than the poetry in THE HATCH, suffused with recalled early childhood and teenage horrors. THE HATCH also scripts the all-too-familiar later, adult perspectives (or disdain for them) that can be horrible to everyone, at least sometimes.
But I suppose, in the end, they are probably not.
